The human behind Students of Swinburne

Meet Nadir Abdella. You might not have seen him around campus, but there’s a chance you might have seen his work on Facebook over the past year. In May 2014, Nadir started a ‘Students of Swinburne’ Facebook page, inspired by the hugely popular Humans of New York blog.
Nadir befriended his photography classmate Marcelo, and the pair liked the idea of starting a photo-based project focused on students. So, they started the page and uploaded their first photo – Nadir says Students of Swinburne had 10 new ‘Likes’ every time he looked at it.
“Every minute it was getting more Likes, and by the time we got home, it had 700 Likes. We even got some good feedback from Stalkerspace,” said Nadir, with the page now reaching past 1,400 Likes.
