Developing a stronger and wider leadership repertoire means not being locked into habitual reactions under pressure. Try these six steps to help interrupt a routine response that may occur when facing challenges or setbacks at work.
Step 1: Wake up and tune in
Notice the early warning signals. This could be that you’re feeling angry, irritated, unsure, under attack or anxious. Once you’re alert, try to notice how you might be sounding or looking to other people.
